M&S eco-plan on schedule
By admin • May 22nd, 2008 • Category: fairtradeAccording to an article on PSFK.com M&S is on schedule with its 5 year eco-plan, stating that 17 out of 100 commitments have been achieved already.
One of the most progressive achievements so far is to turn food waste into energy using an anaerobic digester. Other achievements include reducing CO2 emissions in stores and offices with 50,000 tonnes, selling over 4.8 million fairtrade cotton garments, fairtrade food and drink sales up 20% to over £100 million, and also a 40% increase in organic food sales.
We wish M&S good luck with the rest of their plan and congratulate them on their achievements so far.
