Northern food festival supports Fairtrade

A large Northern regional food festival will have a global and fairtrade feel this year thanks to a deal with the Co-op.

The Wear Valley Food Festival which takes place on April 12th in Bishop, Auckland will sell Fairtrade food for the first time, tying closer links to third world producers. Among the Fairtrade products for sale at the festival, that takes place at the Auckland Castle, will be tea, coffee, cotton and textiles.

So if you are living in the area, or looking to explore the great north, then you should find your way to the food festival and try some of the fairtrade goods available there.
