Coffee chain Starbucks doubling their investment in fairtrade coffee

One of the worlds most famous coffee retailers, Starbucks, recently announced that they through their “Shared Planet” intiative will be doubling their investment in fairtrade coffee over the coming year.

Starbucks have already been one of the leading international coffee retailers when it comes to dealing with fairtrade coffee, and also running their own coffee farmer initiatives that aims to improve the standard of living for their coffee farmer partners and communities. Their social responsibility policies have won awards and the company is focused on ensuring that all levels of their product chain deals ethically and responsibly.

Starbucks will work with TransFair USA and Fairtrade Labelling Organizations International to help improve agricultural and environmental practices.
